Bath struck in the dying moments to condemn Sholing to an agonising defeat at home to start the season. Harry Parsons’ 86th-minute lob settled a tight contest and left the hosts devastated.
Within seconds, there was a penalty shout for Bath when, having picked up a ball from midfield, Matt Bowman went to ground under a standing challenge from Byron mason, but the protests were waved off.
The right wing had been the start of every serious boatmen attack and it finally paid off as Michael Folivi, on the left, found the corner thanks to the delivery from the other end.
The equaliser arrived just before the half-hour mark, Donovan Wilson drew out Jack Turner to provide Scott Wilson with an open goal, into the roof of which, he fired as the sides went in level at the break.
The action in the early part of the second half was limited. What did happen was often targeted at Wiles-Richards left post, specifically a Reece Wylie solo run and a cross from Joe Rabbets that looked for a second to have a chance at going in.
That was until the 86th minute, when Parsons got free just outside the box and lobbed Jack Turner who was left rooted. Sholing’s old demons from last season in conceding late emerged again as Bath took the points.
